From industrial to spiritual

Heubach is a low-populated city in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. The project addresses the transformation of an area currently used as a factory building into an Islamic cultural center. The complex, which includes a mosque with a capacity of 1500 people, sales units, a cultural center and vehicle parking areas, also reflects the characteristic features of the existing factory structure on its façade. The saw roof of the existing building was used for lighting purposes in other office units, except for the mosque, in a way that preserves its subjectivity in the city’s memory.
